We will continue to utilize a technology-based material this year that will be completed at home through interactive eBooks published by Loyola Press. Parents are encouraged to work with their children.  This will allow parents to facilitate meaningful application of chapter content into the ordinary experiences of daily life, which is critical in the formation of faith. 

The children are required to attend a ZOOM or Google Meet session every few weeks, as a review of the most salient information in each chapter and attendance is mandatory (parents are welcome to join the ZOOM sessions).  The children are expected to attend the Zoom sessions as if they are in class, with their faces in FULL VIEW the ENTIRE length of the session. Failure to meet this attendance expectation will result in a make-up session to be completed on another day/time. Thank you for your understanding and support in this policy. Details and times for these sessions to be determined.

The Finding God series will be used for grades 1-7 and grade 8 will prepare for the beautiful sacrament of Confirmation through the series, Confirmed in the Spirit.  These materials will be accessible as eBooks:

• Each child will be assigned a code with which they will log into their eBook.
• Pages of the eBook can be turned, and work can be completed by writing, highlighting and underlining in the eBook.
  • Many pages contain QR codes which allows the children to access additional resources such as videos, songs recordings of Scripture readings and games. 
    • The QR codes are secure and can only access the resources related to each chapter.
• At the end of each chapter is an interactive study guide, which reviews the concepts taught in the session, as well as an assessment tool. 
  • This tool assesses content comprehension and helps the child discover the correct answer if they answer wrong on their first try by referring them to the page in the book and giving them a hint toward the correct selection. 
    • Once it is completed, the assessment needs to be submitted to ensure work is completed, and to help us monitor progress and provide additional support as needed.

Grades 1-7:

The Finding God program has 5 Units, with 5 chapters per Unit.  The children will be assigned chapters to complete at home each month (parents are encouraged to work with the children as needed).  
Grade 8 (Confirmation Preparation):
 
The Confirmed in the Spiritprogram has 8 chapters, and the children will be expected to complete one chapter per month.
