Hello Parents
WELCOME to our 2025-2026 Faith Formation Year!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IN ITS ENTIRETY
We are here to support parents in their role in passing on the faith to their children, and it is a privilege to assist parents in such an amazing responsibility and gift for their children. We view our program very much as a collaboration. The children are working through eBooks at home under the guidance of their parents. We encourage parents to work with their children in order to know what they are learning, which will allow parents to meaningfully connect these important tenets of our faith to the ordinary daily life experiences and relationships that our children encounter each day. This supports our children in their ability to put what they are learning into action and meaningfully live their faith in love and service to others as we are all called to do as disciples of Jesus Christ.
The eBooks have 5 units and the children will need to complete 4 designated chapters and related assessments within each unit, after which they will log onto a Zoom-based Unit Review every 4-5 weeks which is facilitated by a catechist. The catechist reviews the key points of each chapter and helps the children understand and relate what they are learning to everyday life, so it is important that the chapters are completed PRIOR to each Unit Review. The Unit Review sessions are held on various Saturday mornings. I have prepared materials for each unit review across all grades, and I email parents the week prior to the review as a reminder and I include a copy of the material that will be used. |
For each Zoom Unit Review PLEASE make sure that your child:
Your child must complete each chapter designated on the Unit Review Date document PRIOR to attending the Unit Review session, as the information the children learn while completing the chapters in their eBooks will be reviewed by the catechists to support comprehension of the most salient components of each chapter.
You are ENCOURAGED to work with your child in order to know what they are learning, which will allow you to meaningfully connect these important tenets of our faith to the ordinary daily life experiences and relationships that your child encounters. This supports your child in their ability to put what they are learning into action and live their faith in love and service to others as we are all called to do as disciples of Jesus Christ in the ordinary tasks of each day.
